Following the results of the 2024 presidential election, we have entered into a time of uncertainty, tough emotion and stress. This campaign was flooded with negative and misinformation about new Americans and their communities. We acknowledge that this hateful rhetoric is difficult to sit with and can be fear-inducing about what will come next.
However, we want to be clear: we are still here to help. Our commitment to helping guide individuals through this time and into their future healthcare experiences is unchanged. Now, more than ever, we are committed to ensuring that people get the healthcare they deserve. We will continue to assist people in navigating complex systems for accessing insurance, arranging transportation to their appointments, and obtaining the medications and doctors they need. Although we cannot predict what policy changes may come, we can ensure that our support in refugee healthcare and access will not waver.
We all have an obligation to uphold the principle of yes, health equity, but also human decency. If you are not directly impacted by the political claims moving forward, get involved in our community locally. Donate to services, volunteer, educate yourself and stay informed!
Our intention is that this message is filled with hope in our assurance that we will be committed to you and your needs. The world needs longer tables, and not taller fences. Remember to stay strong, but most of all, to be kind to one another and the world around you.
Always with you,

A poem written by Venice Williams
You are awakening to the
Same country you fell asleep to
The very same country.
Pull yourself together.
And,
When you see me,
Do not ask,
“What do we do now?”
How do we get through the next four years?”
Some of my Ancestors dealt with
At least 400 years of this
Under worse conditions
Continue to do the good work
Continue to build bridges not walls
Continue to lead with compassion
Continue the demanding work
Of liberation for all
Continue to dismantle systems
Big and small
Continue to set the best example
For the children
Continue to be a vessel of nourishing joy
Continue right where you are
Right where you live into your days
Do so in the name of
The Creator who expects
Nothing less from each of us
And if you are not “Continuing”
All of the above
In community, partnership, collaboration?
What is it you have been doing?
What are you waiting for?
