Meet Isaac!

Here at Wheelhouse, we are always ecstatic to welcome new individuals into our company. This past month, we welcomed Issac Nzamuye who has previously worked for Dorcas International, and who will be helping us get Dorcas’ clients established in Rhode Island.

Dorcas is a leading agency in Rhode Island, working with a wide range of newcomers in all aspects of their new lives. Of course, healthcare navigation is a crucial element of welcoming individuals to the Ocean State, and we have begun collaborating with this great organization to help their clients. Dorcas’ mission aligns closely with Wheelhouse which is why we are thrilled to welcome Isaac to our team.

Isaac began working for Dorcas International in 2017, following his experience working with them as a newcomer himself. He came to the United States from Congo and benefited from several services that Dorcas provides. As a case aide, Isaac helped with essential tasks for clients at Dorcas such as driving them to their appointments, helping them obtain their medication, and

teaching them how to navigate around the city.

Here at Wheelhouse, we understand that those seemingly simple issues are the real barriers that prevent people from accessing essential healthcare that they need. Isaac shared that he wanted to do this work because he had personal experience with refugee healthcare and knew how to communicate with people about it. Nzamuye shares that, “when working with people you become friendly with them, and that's why I like to do the work.” Isaac has a people-first approach when tackling healthcare barriers. He enjoys working directly with others and helping them overcome the difficulties in everyday life that trickle into healthcare struggles. When asked what he was most excited for when beginning at wheelhouse he said “I am excited to be working with and helping new people again; meeting new friends”. We are ecstatic to work with Isaac moving forward and continue to promote and give aid in the area of healthcare access.
